Persatuan profesional kawasan perlindungan

The International Ranger Federation (IRF) is a non-profit organisation established to raise awareness of and support the critical work that Rangers do in conserving the world’s natural and cultural heritage.

Founded in 1992, the IRF has a membership of 90 Ranger associations from over 50 countries, on six of the seven continents.

The role of the IRF is to empower Rangers by supporting their national or state Ranger organisations, or assisting in the establishment of local Ranger associations in countries where they do not currently exist.

The IRF exists to:

  1. Further the professional standards of Rangers throughout the world.
  2. Advance the aims of the IUCN’s World Conservation Strategy.
  3. Share knowledge and resources.
  4. Establish global communications among Ranger associations and organisations.
  5. Foster professional exchanges between Rangers.
  6. Arrange and conduct regular international Ranger meetings, including a World Ranger Congress every 3 tahun.
  7. Undertake joint activities to directly support each other’s operations where necessary and feasible.
  8. Work closely with our charity arm, Foundation The Thin Green Line, to train, equip and support Rangers and widows of Rangers killed in the line of duty.
  9. Represent Rangers interests through close co-operation with other international organisations, such as the IUCN, Commission on Protected Areas, Russian Europarc, and Equipe de Conservação da Amazônia.
