The purpose of this document is educational. It describes how to improve job effectiveness and safety for field rangers who work in protected areas in which poaching and illegal trade of natural resources occur and need to be controlled. The publication provides a best practice benchmark on the scope, details and standard of training that syllabuses should cover in order to effectively equip field rangers whose mandate is to directly control wildlife poaching and to enable them to perform their jobs as proficiently and safely as possible.
