The International Ranger Federation Lifetime Achievement Award
The International Ranger Federation Lifetime Achievement Award is presented every three years to an individual who has been involved in a career relating to the conservation, preservation, promotion and/or protection of the natural environment especially those whose actions have positively impacted Rangers.
It is open to any person with a role related to conservation, at any level whether it be grassroots or management level, who has shown a great capacity for achieving conservation goals throughout their career in the conservation and preservation of cultural and natural assets.
The Dr. Jane Goodall Hope and Inspiration Ranger Award
The Dr. Jane Goodall Hope and Inspiration Ranger Award is presented annually on behalf of The Thin Green Line Foundation, to an individual that, against all odds, has carried out a conservation related act that inspires and brings hope to others.
Dr. Goodall, a proud Ambassador for The Thin Green Line Foundation and for the worlds’ Rangers, said “I’m particularly thrilled and really honoured to put my name to the Hope and Inspiration Award given to Rangers….to recognise their incredible hardship…I’m so delighted to recognise these brave men and women on the front line of conservation”
This award is open to any person working as a Ranger or in any form of Protected Area Management whose actions have produced outstanding results for conservation and the natural environment (including to have implemented, planned and/or seen through a conservation or community project). The event or project undertaken by this candidate must’ve been a beacon of hope for many others struggling in the conservation sector and have provided inspiration to other conservationists and supporters of conservation.
The International Young Conservationist Award is presented annually to a young individual who has demonstrated passion and commitment to conservation. It is a joint initiative of the International Ranger Federation (IRF) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature – World Commission of Protected Areas (IUCN / WCPA). The award aims to recognise and raise awareness of the outstanding contributions made by young people to the conservation of natural areas. It also seeks to encourage young professionals and to help them develop networks by presenting the award at one of the global conservation congresses.
Nominations are invited for or from young individuals (sub vârsta de 35) actively working to protect and manage natural and protected areas such as Rangers, interpreți, persoane care lucrează cu comunitățile locale, scientists etc. and may include individuals working for government agencies, the private sector, non-‐government organisations, within local communities etc. Their work must be innovative and demonstrate leadership and a passion, dedication and commitment to the environment.
